UNC Trustees to Meet Friday, June 16

The University of Northern Colorado Board of Trustees will meet at 8:30 a.m. Friday, June 16, in the Panorama Room at the University Center, 2101 10th Ave.

Trustees will take action on:

  • the 2017-18 budget, including tuition, fees, and room and board rates;
  • capital construction priorities, as required by the state, for fiscal year 2018-19;
  • faculty promotion and tenure recommendations;
  • emeritus faculty recommendations;
  • Faculty Senate approved amendments to clarify portions of three sections in the Board Policy Manual;
  • a resolution related to the renewal of bonds.

During the meeting, the board will adjourn into executive session to discuss personnel issues pursuant to C.R.S. 24-6-402 (3)(b)(I).

The board's tentative 2017-18 meeting schedule is:

  • Nov. 16 (working session)
  • Nov. 17 (regular meeting)
  • Jan. 19 (regular meeting)
  • March 1 (working session)
  • March 2 (regular meeting)
  • June 15 (regular meeting)

IDD Offering Canvas Boot Camps, Consultations This Summer

Instructional Design and Development invites faculty teaching this summer and who are new to Canvas to participate in a Canvas Boot Camp either in Greeley on June 19 or at the UNC Centerra Center in Loveland on July 17. Register for either of them on the IDD Workshop Registration site.

In addition, IDD continues to schedule individual and group online course design and development consultations for faculty throughout the summer. To schedule a consultation with an Instructional Designer, fill out their consultation request form.

Retirement Reception for Tammie Etl

Enrollment Management and Student Access will host a retirement reception for Tammie Etl 3:30-5 p.m. Thursday, June 22, in the Centennial Hall room in Brown Hall. Stop by to congratulate Tammie and acknowledge her 25 years of service to UNC. Light refreshments will be served.

Emergency Alert System to be Tested June 14

A test of UNC's Emergency Alert Messaging System will be conducted about noon on Wednesday, June 14. The test message will be sent to UNC email accounts, text-enabled campus phones, subscribed cell phones (text message) and campus emergency poles. If you want to sign up to receive emergency alert text messages on your cell phone or if your cell phone number changed recently, instructions are available on the Emergency Alert System website.

Bear on a Bike Program Offers Security

Protect your bicycle from theft and improve your chances of getting it back if it's stolen with the Bear on a Bike program. Register your bike and its serial number for $20 and you'll receive a free U-lock to use to secure it. The one-time registration is valid for as long as you're at UNC.

Fill out the registration form on the Parking Services website, print it and then bring it with payment to Parking Services in Gray Hall or the University Center information desk.

What to Do If You Get a Request for Public Records

Faculty or staff who receive a request for public records under the Colorado Open Records Act should refer the requestor to the university's policies and procedures for those requests, which are available here.
